Massage Therapy Continuing Education
The Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy recognizes that we never stop learning. To meet this need for professional growth and licensure/certification renewal, we offer various Massage Therapist Continuing Education courses and/or weekend workshops. All of our workshops are open to massage therapists, and some are open to the public in general.
There is a free online Child Abuse Recognition Course offered by the University of Pittsburgh. This course satisfies the Pennsylvania initial license and license renewal requirements for massage therapists. Click here to access this course.
Note that the Policies and Procedures for Continuing Education at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy have changed. Click here to see our updated Policy dated March 17, 2022.

Many of our workshops are offered by Approved Providers of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Look for the NCBTMB Approved Provider logo after the workshop hours in the course description. Please be aware that workshops provided by instructors that are not approved by the NCBTMB are not recognized by the NCBTMB for Board Certification, and may not be recognized for license renewal outside of Pennsylvania.
PA LICENSE RENEWAL
Under Section 20.33(b)1 of the PA Massage Therapy Regulations, schools of massage therapy, including the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy, are pre-approved providers of continuing education for PA License Renewal. As such, all of our courses do count toward license renewal. We may occasionally offer a course that does not qualify based on the subject material. Those courses will be noted as not qualifying.
NOTICE: We make every attempt to have accurate information on the website but occasionally errors do occur including times or prices. We will not be held responsible for these errors and an adjustment may be made upon registration. Also, workshops have minimum and maximum registrations so please register early.
Special Notice For All Workshops
If you are experiencing pregnancy, a specific medical/health situation or anything that may be contraindicated to receiving massage during your workshop, please let us know when registering for the class. We will check with the instructor to make sure your participation is safe and appropriate.
