About The Event

This workshop will introduce the student to the practice of Thai herbal compress therapy (known as Luk Prakob in Thailand). Herbal compresses have been used for hundreds of years in traditional Thai medicine to address a number of conditions from joint pain to aiding in lactation in nursing mothers.

During the workshop students will be introduced to basic Thai medical theory and herbal medicine as practiced in Thailand. We will make our own herbal compresses, blending together a combination of herbs to create a unique blend for the individual’s preference. Students will learn how to incorporate herbal compress therapy into their existing practice as well as how herbal compress therapy has been used in traditional Thai medicine. This technique is a wonderful addition to your existing spa practice as well as your home-remedy toolbox.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. No jeans or skirts/dresses please.

Presenter: GREGORY PARK, LMT received his initial training at the Cascade Institute in Eugene, Oregon. Additionally, Greg graduated from the International School of Shiatsu and completed a training in traditional Thai Yoga Massage at the International Society of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
