The Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy Workshop is a 32 -classroom hour specialization training designed to prepare practicing massage therapists to work safely and effectively with the many needs of expectant, laboring and postpartum clients. The workshop is approximately 90% hands-on, including over 80 techniques. Students learn an integrative somatic approach incorporating insights and selected techniques from Ida Rolf; neuromuscular and myofascial therapy, movement, osteopathic soft tissue techniques and other Western methods; applied tai chi principles and emotional sensitivity. Well-researched guidelines empower therapists to address childbearing clients' concerns with empathy and thoroughness.
