About The Event
Manual lymph drainage for the intact lymphatic system is a course designed for Licensed Massage Therapists. By the end of the course the LMT should have a basic understanding of the lymphatic system, how it works, the direction of the flow of lymph, of how to increase the flow of the lymph through Manual Lymph Drainage, when is the appropriate time to use Manual Lymph Drainage, and when Manual Lymph Drainage is contraindicated. The LMT will also be instructed in hands on Manual Lymph Drainage and taught basic routines for the supraclavicular region, head, abdominal region, and the four lymphatic quadrants of the body. Presenter: Julia Schandelmeier. Having been in practice for over 20 years and experienced in a range of therapeutic techniques, Julia Schandelmeier combines modalities to address the individual needs of her clients. Her specialties include: • postoperative massage • manual lymph drainage • cupping • hot stones • myofascial release • neuromuscular therapy (trigger point) • pregnancy massage • fertility massage Julia is a graduate of the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy, where she has also taught neuromuscular therapy and ethics. She is also certified in manual lymph drainage from the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy and has attended professional development classes and workshops throughout her years of practice.
