Cupping for the Licensed Massage Therapist with Jeanette Lundell

An intensive and in-depth training on the use of cups as a modality to be integrated with your existing sessions. Various cupping equipment will be demonstrated and used during hands on time. There will be two rounds of technique work only, plus one round to experiment with incorporating the use of cupping in your standard session. Topics covered will include 13 techniques, contraindications/indications and safety, proper handling and cleaning, benefits, research, marketing, and specific uses for specific issues. Included with the course are a set of plastic vacuum cups, a set of glass cups, and a set of silicone cups which will be available to use during class, as well as yours to keep as part of the class. Items to bring to class: • Massage table • 2 sets of sheets. (You will be experiencing hands on training multiple times) • 2 hand towels or washcloths • Lubrication. Lotion works great, but you may want to purchase a small amount of oil to experiment with for client comfortability. • Essential oils, and other small tools you use in a standard session.

Presenter: Jeanette Lundell, LMT has been licensed in the state of Pennsylvania for over 5 years. She has owned her business “Inner Roots Wellness” since she graduated, and is also an instructor for Neuromuscular Therapy and Hydrotherapy at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy. Jeanette obtained her certification for cupping from ACE Massage Cupping, and ever since she has incorporated it into her deep tissue sessions, she has noticed significant improvement in not only her clients, but her own body as well. In addition to massage therapy, and holding an instructor position, she also co-founded an educational platform, Massage Core Academy. This company is dedicated to assisting newly graduated massage therapists throughout the world, with having their own successful massage therapy business. Giving therapists the support they require post- schooling is very important to her, especially in the areas of financial management, marketing, networking, and customer satisfaction. What is even more important to her is to have hands on, engaging, interactive and FUN aspects in all of her classes. Though enjoyably busy, Jeanette consistently practices self-care through meditation, awareness techniques, essential oils, and acupuncture treatments.
