About The Event
While you may get more from this class if you have attended an Alexander Intro class, it is not required or necessary to have previous AT experience. Learn or review the basic principles of the Alexander Technique as they apply to walking with dynamic ease and support. Your feet are your foundation, and they are much more flexible than you may realize or experience daily. Come explore the anatomy of your feet and the different components of walking. It's really about your whole self; we will start with the feet. When your feet and ankles are easily mobile and feeling like a solid base of support, your work as a massage therapist can feel more effective. If you are comfortable with it, you will receive gentle hands-on work and verbal guidance. If you prefer verbal coaching only that is entirely possible.
Massage tables are provided by the school. Please bring sheets and cream.
Jenny Briggs has been a massage therapist since 1998. She studied privately with her AT teacher and then completed a three-year training course to become a certified Alexander Technique instructor herself in 2007.
